A graduate of graphic design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. He specializes in the design of posters and publications, but his interests encompass visual identification and illustration as well. He participated in many poster art exhibitions in Poland and abroad; his posters were shown at group exhibitions (in Belgium, Belarus, Bolivia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, the Netherlands, Iran, Germany, Slovakia, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and the US) and over a dozen individual exhibitions (among others in Berlin, Częstochowa, Gdańsk, Gdynia, Łódź, Olsztyn, Poznań, Szczecin, and Toruń). The winner of several important awards and distinctions in the field of poster and illustration, including: "Clairvoyant" (Poland), "4th Block" (Ukraine), "Golden Bee" and "Strelka" (Russia), Shenzen International Poster Biennale (China) as well as the Main Prize of the AMS Poster Gallery (Poland) and the Audience Award of the 26th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw. Pręgowski teaches design, lettering and typography at his alma mater university, where he is the head of the Graphic Design Department.
As a professor, he believes that working with students requires to be at the top of one’s profession and to maintain high form. Pręgowski notices: “I often ask myself if they are not the ones who teach me?" An author of articles and columns devoted to the history of graphic design. In his works, he assigns a special role to the poster design – a universal medium of communication and self-expression, which resists the traditional classification of art disciplines.
